Our Mission - What We Do

Our mission is to strive to be a community partner, not only supporting local producers and farmers, but also providing access to food and promoting initiatives for the good of the community.

Our Vision - Why We Exist

Our vision is working toward the collective community benefit of healthy food and a healthy economy through co-ownership and supporting local producers and farmers.

Our Values - How We Serve

Our primary values include staying rooted in community, providing healthy convenience, and offering transparency. We also want to foster a sense of belonging and a stake in our collective success, build cooperation, and connect to the idea of “know your farmer, know your food.”

Our Story

We’re the only fresh-food grocery store in Mt. Pulaski, proudly serving our city and all the surrounding communities in Southern Logan County. At Market on the Hill grocery store, we believe that quality, fresh, and convenient foods, combined with personal relationships are essential to a vibrant, sustainable community.

We’re working toward the collective community benefit of healthy food and a healthy economy through co-ownership and supporting local producers and farmers. We have Owners and Members, but shoppers from the general public are equally important in making this community-owned business a success.

Our store is open to EVERYONE, starting in Spring of 2020!

We only HOPE you choose to become an owner.

Becoming an owner shows your commitment and support to the community in an attempt to sustain a local grocery in Mt. Pulaski.

We adopted co-op business model to raise capital amongst members of the community and allow them to become owners. For two reasons

1) to create a group of owners who we knew would support the Market to serve as the economic base to become sustainable

2) to spread risk of ownership out to a larger number of people.
